Objective: Develop a comprehensive and cohesive visual identity for Gimme Gimme Disco’s events and 5 Year Festival that captivates the audience, drives ticket sales, and enhances the live event experience.

Outcome: The successful execution of these visuals contributed to selling out Pier 17 in NYC, with over 4,000 attendees and more than 2,000 at Stone Pony Summer Stage in New Jersey.

As Creative Director for the Gimme Gimme Disco brand and its 5 Year Anniversary festival at Pier 17 and Stone Pony Summer Stage, I crafted the visual identity to reflect the era’s vibrant energy including but not limited to a new logo, poster designs, social media assets, and various forms of promotional content. This poster is designed to resonate deeply with the disco audience by celebrating the core elements of the disco era—music, dance, and community. It features swirls of color and dynamic visuals that evoke the essence of the 70s disco scene, including the iconic cityscapes of New York City and New Jersey where both events took place. The design integrates era-specific elements, such as a disco ball, neon colors, and a popular disco-era car, adding an extra layer of authenticity to evoke nostalgia while inviting people to experience the joy of disco.

Social Media Assets

Gimme Gimme Disco consistently showcases over 80 events each week across the U.S., Canada, and the UK on our social media platforms. To effectively showcase the numerous cities and dates, I developed a streamlined approach to promoting the extensive schedule by designing Instagram posts with a distinctive two-panel square layout. Each post is crafted as a seamless panoramic image, creating a continuous visual experience when scrolling through the carousel. Posted weekly, these all-show posts come in four variations to maintain visual freshness and avoid repetitiveness. Each variation aligns with the current branding but incorporates different colors, landscapes, and disco-era cars at the center. This approach not only enhances visual appeal but also ensures that the extensive event information is presented in an aesthetic, cohesive, and engaging manner.

In addition to the weekly all-show posts, I also designed various other social media assets for the Gimme Gimme Disco brand. These include “This Weekend” posts to highlight upcoming events and promotional guest art for the Disco 5 Year Festival. All assets were created within the same branding framework, ensuring consistency across all visual communications and platforms.

Brand Activation

To create a cohesive festival experience, I extended the Gimme Gimme Disco visual identity beyond marketing materials and into the venue itself. From stage graphics and audience engagement assets to environmental signage and branded photo moments, every touchpoint was designed to reinforce the festival's vibrant disco-inspired aesthetic.

A custom song request system allowed attendees to interact with the event in real time through branded QR code graphics displayed on venue screens, while large-scale environmental branding created memorable moments throughout the space. Together, these elements transformed the visual identity from a promotional campaign into an immersive live experience that attendees could engage with, photograph, and share.

As part of the creative development process, I explored how the Gimme Gimme Disco visual identity could extend beyond traditional marketing materials and into large-scale experiential installations. Inspired by key elements from the festival artwork, these concepts reimagine the disco ball, retro automobile, rainbow roadway, and NYC skyline as immersive physical environments designed to create memorable, shareable moments for attendees.

The concept was developed to demonstrate how a cohesive visual identity can translate into interactive brand experiences, environmental graphics, and festival activations that deepen audience engagement while bringing the world of the brand to life.

Promotional Video Ads

I created a 10-second animated ad featuring the Gimme Gimme Disco branding and the 5 Year Festival in a dynamic and engaging manner. The animation features a low ticket warning to encourage prompt purchases. Additionally, I edited a promotional video, both designed to effectively drive excitement and ticket sales through high energy clips of our shows and compelling visuals.

Concert Visual Loops

I animated an hour long series of visual loops that were showcased on a massive 32’ x 18’ screen in front of thousands of people, incorporating the Gimme Gimme Disco logo in various interactive and impactful ways. Each loop features high-energy visuals and immersive effects, creating a beautiful and mesmerizing disco-style experience. The colorful and dynamic visuals were designed to elevate the festival experience, enhancing engagement and enjoyment for everyone in attendance while staying true to the brand’s vibrant, high-energy essence.
