Objective:

Develop a bold and cohesive visual identity for Long Live Emo Fest, Emo Night Brooklyn’s 11-year anniversary celebration. The goal was to capture the raw emotion, nostalgia, and intensity of emo culture while driving ticket sales and transforming the event into a fully immersive live experience.

Outcome:

The visual system was executed across the entire event ecosystem including promotional campaigns, stage visuals, environmental installations, merchandise, and show openers. The campaign helped build excitement around a one-night celebration that brought together fans and iconic artists from the emo scene. The event culminated in a sold-out show at Brooklyn Paramount, where thousands of fans gathered for an unforgettable night celebrating emo music and culture alongside special appearances and performances from some of the genre’s most iconic artists.

I created the key visual and promotional poster for Long Live Emo Fest, Emo Night Brooklyn’s 11-year anniversary event at Brooklyn Paramount. The design draws heavily from the visual language of early 2000s emo and hardcore aesthetics, combining custom typography, distressed textures, layered grain, sharp thorn-like lettering, and gritty atmospheric color treatments giving the piece a tactile, pop-punk feel. The design was used across marketing materials and digital promotions to build anticipation for the anniversary event and reinforce Emo Night Brooklyn’s connection to the culture and community surrounding the music.

Social Assets

I designed a series of promotional social assets to support the announcement rollout and build momentum leading up to the event. The graphics were created as a flexible system that could accommodate lineup reveals, performer spotlights, and ticket promotions while maintaining a consistent visual language across the campaign.

These assets highlighted featured artists including Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), John O’Callaghan (The Maine), Travie McCoy (Gym Class Heroes), Hit the Lights, and Thursday, helping generate excitement around the 11-year anniversary celebration at Brooklyn Paramount.

Experiential Design

I designed a 20-foot branded inflatable entrance arch for Long Live Emo Fest, created to serve as a dramatic entry point for guests arriving at the event at Brooklyn Paramount. The structure extended the festival’s visual identity into the physical space, transforming the venue entrance into a recognizable and immersive branded moment.

Immersive Stage Visuals

I created a series of large-scale stage visuals for Long Live Emo Fest, designed to transform the Brooklyn Paramount into an immersive visual environment that amplified the emotional energy of the performances.

The visuals were developed to work dynamically across the venue’s LED screens, combining bold typography, animated graphics, and atmospheric lighting to create moments that interacted with the music and performances on stage. Custom visuals supported DJ sets, live band performances, and key moments throughout the night, helping maintain visual intensity and engagement for the crowd.

Opening Intro Video

I created the opening video that kicked off the festival, building anticipation and excitement as the venue filled with thousands of fans, designed to energize the crowd and set the tone for the night. The piece begins with a tongue-in-cheek throwback moment - a short archival documentary clip from 2008 as an ironic nod to the early days of emo culture and the origins of Emo Night Brooklyn.

The nostalgic setup then transitions into a high-energy sequence featuring lyric-synchronized visuals mapped to My Chemical Romance’s “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”,  Displayed across the venue’s massive LED screens, the intro served as the opening moment of the show, amplifying the crowd’s energy and signaling the start of the festival experience.

Merch

I designed a collection of merchandise for Long Live Emo Fest, extending the festival’s visual identity into wearable products sold at the event. The designs feature the project’s custom thorn-like typography and distressed aesthetic, drawing inspiration from classic emo and hardcore band merchandise.

The collection included t-shirts, hoodies, long sleeves, and beanies, each designed to maintain a bold, recognizable graphic presence while remaining wearable for fans. The pieces were produced and sold at the event’s merch booth at Brooklyn Paramount, allowing attendees to take home a physical piece of the festival experience.

Artist Intro Video – Kellin Quinn

I produced a custom stage intro to introduce Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens before his performance at Brooklyn Paramount. The video was designed to create a dramatic lead-in to his appearance, building tension in the room before he stepped on stage.

The sequence transitions into a visually mapped and lyric-synchronized moment set to “King for a Day,” timed to align with the start of the performance and displayed across the venue’s LED screens. The visuals were developed in coordination with Kellin Quinn and his team, who reviewed and approved the final piece ahead of the show.
